Life Cycle Assessment

LCA on Thailand Biomass

In the study, first we assume the location of bio-ethanol plant based on the current site investigation, second we estimate the available material weight in each site for the existing bio-ethanol plant, third based on the location of available resources, we estimate the optimal route on the gathering residual materials, and forth we consider the optimal allocation of Blue Tower (BT) gasification plant (scale: 30 t/d). The surplus electricity through BT system would be supplied to the general grid so as to reduce CO2 emission in comparison of the conventional electricity. In the optimal assignment of additional bio-ethanol facilities, the benefit of CO2 emission reduction would not be able to be obtained in comparison to the existing ones. However, the alternation of conventional power and/or the reduction of auxiliary power through the biomass gasification process have a potentiality to obtain much CO2 reduction benefit.

There are two scenarios in this study. In scenario 1 on condition that the objectives function of biomass utilization model is minimum CO2 emission, we estimate BT plant location after simulating the optimal location of bio-ethanol plants. In scenario 2 we simulate the optimal location of both bio-ethanol plants and BT plants simultaneously.

  7. I think what you posted made a lot of sense. However, what about this? suppose you were to write a killer title? I am not suggesting your content isn’t good., however what if you added something to possibly grab folk’s attention? I mean life cycle assessment for low carbon energy system is kinda boring. You might look at Yahoo’s front page and see how they write post titles to grab viewers to open the links. You might add a video or a related picture or two to get people interested about what you’ve got to say. In my opinion, it might bring your posts a little bit more interesting.
